Invisalign clear aligners in Port Macquarie is easy with one of the highest awarded Invisalign Orthodontists in Australia!
Port Macquarie Orthodontics offers both Invisalign clear aligners and traditional metal braces. We understand there are some people who simply do not want traditional braces, but have very complex tooth movement needs. Often these people are told by other Doctors that they’re not a candidate for Invisalign. That’s why we have made it our mission to be one of Australia’s top providers of Invisalign aligners. We want people to choose the orthodontic appliance that suits their lifestyle the best. We are one of the few Orthodontic practices in Australia that can offer all of our patients Invisalign, without compromising your final result. And because we are so experienced with Invisalign, we can create your new smile in less time than with traditional braces orthodontics.
This treatment method uses virtually invisible aligners to move your teeth into position, and at Port Macquarie Orthodontics we’re recognised as a Red Diamond Invisalign provider - the most experienced in NSW.
How does Invisalign work?
Invisalign doesn’t use brackets and archwires to straighten your teeth. Instead, this method uses clear plastic aligners which look a little bit like thin sports mouthguards to guide your teeth into place.
The process begins with 3D imaging equipment which we use to create your smile. This means we can envisage what your smile could look like after treatment, before you’ve even begun! The images we take are then used to create custom-made aligners, designed specifically for the condition of your teeth.
These aligners exert mild pressure on the teeth that need correcting in order to straighten your smile and will be changed approximately every two weeks as your teeth move.
Benefits of Invisalign
One of the greatest benefits of Invisalign is that the aligners are removable. This means you can take them out to eat, brush and floss and at other times during the week, such as client meetings or evenings out. However, for best results the aligners must be worn for 22 hours a day. Any less and you could delay your treatment time.
Types of Invisalign
There are four different versions of Invisalign:
- Invisalign Comprehensive– the original version of this treatment which takes between 12 and 24 months.
- Invisalign Lite – this version is only suitable for problems associated with the front six teeth, but results can be seen in as little as six months.
- Invisalign Express– another quick treatment option to correct problems of the front six teeth, Invisalign Express can bring about results in three months.
- Invisalign First – Invisalign’s version of its customised clear aligners designed specifically for children.
Invisalign is also an effective treatment option for teens.
Is Invisalign suitable for me?
Invisalign offers solutions for both adults and children. Saying this, as a cosmetic treatment it is not as effective as traditional braces for some severe issues. Depending on the nature of your malocclusion (bad bite) we may recommend a different solution.
